Hello! We're excited to introduce the 'GreenTech Globalthon' co-hosted by GDGoC INHA and AIESEC in INHA! 🚀

🌍 We invite you on a global journey to find innovative solutions for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This hackathon goes beyond a simple coding competition; it's a unique experience to solve global problems and create a better future.

🤝 This event, where domestic and international students collaborate to develop SDGs solutions using IT technology, is an opportunity to enhance your technical skills, creativity, and global mindset.

Q. 해커톤이란 무엇인가요? 

글로벌톤은 글로벌과 해커톤의 합성어로, 언어 및 국가적 장벽을 넘어 글로벌 무대에서 해커톤을 진행한다는 의미를 가지고 있습니다. 일반적인 해커톤과 같이 개발자, UX/UI 디자이너 , PM 등이 한 팀이 되며, SDGs를 주제로 하나의 솔루션을 도출할 계획입니다.

Q. What is a Hackathon?

Global Tone is a compound word combining "global" and "hackathon", signifying a hackathon that transcends language and national barriers on a global stage. Similar to traditional hackathons, developers, UX/UI designers, and PMs will form teams to develop a solution focused on SDGs.

Q. 영어를 잘해야 글로벌톤에 참여할 수 있을까요?

영어를 잘 못하셔도 무관합니다. 심사나 발표, 강연 프로그램 등은 영어로 진행되지만 팀 내에서 대화하는 것은 제약사항이 없습니다. 영어, 한국어 혹은 번역기를 사용하며 대화하셔도 무방합니다. 외국인과의 대화가 어려운 학생분들을 위해 첫 아이스브레이킹 시간에 영어 소통을 위한 프로그램이 있을 예정입니다.

Q. Do I need to be fluent in English to participate in Globalthon?

English proficiency is not required. While judging, presentations, and lecture programs will be conducted in English, team internal communication has no restrictions. You can communicate in English, Korean, or use translation tools. For students who might find communication challenging, an ice-breaking program to facilitate English communication will be prepared.

Q. 인하대학교가 아닌 학생도 참여가능한가요?

인하대학교 재학생이 아니신 학생분들도 모두 참여가능합니다. 다만, 장소대관부터 인하대학교측에 지원금을 받아 운영이 되기 때문에, 인하대학교 학생분들께는 5,000원 할인 혜택을 드리고 있습니다.  

Q. Can students from universities other than Inha University participate?

Students from other universities can participate. However, since the event is supported by Inha University for venue and funding, Inha University students receive a ₩5,000 discount.

Q. 컴퓨터공학과 등의 공대 학생들만 참여 가능한가요?

전공 상관없이 글로벌톤에 참여가능합니다. 다만, 희망 포지션이 개발자(Engineer)일 경우 어느 정도의 프로그래밍 실력은 필요합니다. 또한, PM이나 UX/UI 디자인 등 본인의 능력과 기술을 바탕으로 희망 포지션을 잘 설정하면 될 것 같습니다.

Q. Is participation limited to engineering students?

Participation is open to all majors. For those hoping to be developers (Engineers), some programming skills are recommended. You can select your desired position based on your skills and abilities, such as PM or UX/UI design.

Q. 팀은 어떻게 구성되나요? 

A. 개인참여, 2인 참여자는 4인 팀으로 운영위원회에서 구성해드릴 예정입니다. 4인 팀 참여도 가능하며 이 경우에는 한국학생과 국제학생 함께 팀을 구성하고 있어야 합니다. 즉, 4인 전원 한국학생 혹은 전원 국제학생은 참여 불가합니다.

Q. How are teams formed?

Individual and two-person participants will be grouped into 4-person teams by the organizing committee. 4-person team applications are also possible, but must include both Korean and international students. Teams cannot consist entirely of Korean or entirely of international students.

Q. 수료증과 상장의 차이는 무엇인가요?

저희는 글로벌톤을 성실하게 참여하고 수료를 마친 분들께도 인하대학교 사업단 명의의 수료증을 발급해드릴 예정입니다. 다만, 상장은 심사에 있어 우수한 성적을 거둔 분들께만 발급해드릴 예정입니다. 

Q. What is the difference between a certificate and an award?

A certificate of completion from Inha University's project group will be issued to all participants who actively and successfully complete the event. Awards will only be given to those who have achieved outstanding scores in the evaluation.
